First of all congratulations on clearing Gate which only 20–25% of the candidates that have appeared in the exam, manage to do so. Yet, you need to understand the bitter truth, that this is not a very good score, at least in Civil Engineering. Such is the paper standard and competition these days.

For general category students to get a seat in IIT you have to have a rank below 1000. But this score might fetch you rank about 6000 - 7000.

If you belong to SC/ST/PWD you might get NITs or state engineering college otherwise for other category students it is quiet impossible to get NITs or even state engineering colleges.
