  • In case of NITs, 50 % of the seats are reserved for students from the home state, in case a state or a union territory does not have an NIT, seats for students are reserved in the nearest NIT. The other 50% of the seats are then divided in terms of reservations for students from other states, this is the Other State Quota (OS).
  • In the case of central institutions the quotas apply in the form of Home State (HS) Quota, Other States (OS) quota and All India Quota.Other quotas applicable during admissions include quotas for Jammu and Kashmir migrants.
