With 42 marks your approximate rank will be around 44-45k and in this rank no good college is there there is chance of getting lower branches at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore and Acharya Institute of Technology, Bangalore but seeing the recent cutoffs these colleges have jumped in ranking and thus selection is tough. Try JEE and other colleges too.
