You have not mentioned the category you are talking about.
Also with a category rank of around 8000, it will be hard for you to get a seat in any NITs IIITs and GFTIs for core branches such as CSE, ECE, etc.

You might get some branches such as mechanical and civil in some of the newer NITs such as NIT Srinagar, NIT Arunachal, NIT Meghalaya , NIT Mizoram, etc.

Pleasee go for all the rounds of JOSAA counseling and also the CSAB spot round so as to try to get better seats.
