Hello Aspirant,

There are 2 types of IIITs in India,

a)Indian Institute of Information Technology, b)International Institute of Information Technology

Again there are 2 types of Indian Institutes of Information Technology,

a) Fully funded by MHRD, Government of India. central government have 50% share and state government have 50% share. example IIIT Allahabad, Gwalior, Kanchipuram and Jabalpur.

b)Not for profit Public Private Partnership (PPP). These IIITs are funded by Central Government(50% share), State Government(35% share) and Industry Partners(15% share). explames are new IIITs like IIIT Srirangam, Kota, Lucknow, Sri City and many others newly opened IIITs.

Hope it helps you.

thank you.
