IITs are the among the premier institutes in India. In general, the placements are good. But to note, most people go for higher studies and hence placement ratio falls at 6-12% only.

If you have studied statistics, jobs are available in analytics companies. Research or PhD is an option for you. Also, you can get into teaching profession. Bank jobs and Financial advisers are on focus now. RBI also hires these graduates.

Competitive exams like SSC/UPSC can also be considered for better career opputunities.
