To go in the field of Weapon designing which is a highly specialized field, you need to do a graduate course in the fields such as Mechanical, Electrical, chemical and metallurgy engineering.

Given that you have a diploma in MEchanical engineering, you can opt to get a Btech or BE in mechanical engineering. After this, you can apply for the Post Graduate course in the Weapons designing.

For this specialization, you can join following institutes :

• Defense Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune, Maharashtra
• Institute of Armament Technology, Pune
• College of Military Engineering, Pune.

Also, if you want to invent new things you can apply for the job in DRDO after your graduation of post graduation, for the job of scientist.

Also, you can also join ISRO if you are interested in designing other than weapons .
