Consider this stastics, around 200000 people write CAT and 1percentage of it - 2000 scores 99 percentile. Total seats in all IIMs is a bit more than 4000. Around half of this will be reserved seats. And many of the 99 percentilers could not secure admission in IIMs especially in old one. There are good institutes other than IIMs like XLRI, FMS, SP Jain, JBIMS, IITs,MDI,  NMIMS and Symbiosis. Many of these are older than most of IIMs and have good alumni network, infrastructure and other facilities.

Apart from old IIM ,you can always go for new promising new iims like IIM Rohtak, Ranchi and Trichy if you are brand conscious. If the IIM brand does not matter to you,then you can go for SP Jain, MDI Gurgaon, JBIMS(Excellent RoI),FMS ( Excellent RoI) and NITIE,Mumbai (if you are willing to make a career in supply chain and operations) Good luck.

Have a look at SP Jain, XLRI, SIBM, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, FMS etc. all stand good.

For new IIMs CAT cutoff is around 96% percentile and you will get a call if you have cleared sectional cutoffs.

Almost all colleges have some sectional cutoffs and clearing those gives you a chance to appear for the interviews.
