Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.

Qualifying Exam Subjects

Candidates must have Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Computer Science /Electronics/Biotechnology as their subjects in 10+2 examination or equivalent examination.

Qualifying Entrance Exam

Candidates must have valid KCET or PESSAT scores in order to be eligible for admission
If you want to go for PES then PESSAT is mandatory...
Otherwise you can go for JEE mains.

If you have score good marks and rank in JEE MAINS then you must go on with that. If you are not confident with your marks then you must write pessat to keep yourself on safe side. But the best option would be to check out the previous years cutoff for PES University for JEE MIANS. It will help you to get a rough idea about what rank or marks in jee mains you can get admission in PES.

see the intake capacity of seat quota under pessat which conducts by pes university is greater than seat intake under jee main score. also pessat exam level is moderate compare to jee main. so if you prepare well for jee main you can easily get a high score in pessat. follow the below link to know the seat intake under each of the exam quota:
