No Vellore institute of technology does not allow it's students to stay outside the hostel in any of its campuses. Vellore institute of technology is a completely self residential institution and students in first year have freedom to choose their rooms.

Admission in any of the VIT branches is given through the VITEEE .

The eligibility criteria to give this Entrance in 2021 is

Applicant should be an Indian national. Born after july 1st, 1998

Must have cleared 10+2 with minimum aggregate of 50% in science stream .

So if you qualify this criteria you can take admission.
