When you choose a college and get admission there the fees will be deducted from the acceptance fee and if there is any remaining amount left you then you pay more

The rules for refund are these

• Candidates who chose to withdraw allotted seat in JoSAA counselling and do not want to participate in the special round are entitled for the refund of seat allotment fee with a deduction of Rs. 1,500.
• Candidates who are not allotted a seat in the special round, he/ she shall be entitled to a refund of participation fee with a deduction of Rs. 1,500.
• Candidates who are not allocated a seat in CSAB Round 1 and wants to withdraw from Round 2 counselling are entitled to a refund of participation fee with a deduction of Rs. 1,500.
• Candidates who opt for Surrender of Seat and Participate in Round 2 and are not allocated a seat in Round 2 must note that he/ she shall be entitled to a refund of the participation fee.
• Candidates who have been allocated a seat in Special Round 1 and failed to report to the institute within the specified deadline, he/she shall be entitled to the refund of seat acceptance fee with a deduction of Rs. 5,000.
