One of the best nit's in north India to pursue civil engineering is mnit allahabad, Manit Jaipur, nit bhopal, nit surat, nit jalandhar, nit jamshedpur, nit raipur, nit patna. However I would recommend you to not just focus on nit's in the north. Because the best nit's fir civil engineering are in south, i.e. nit trichy, nit warangal, nit surathkal, etc. However it's completely about your preferences. Mnit allahabad would be the best out of all the nit's in northern India.

Since your Home State is UP, I believe you must Target Civil Engineering at MNNIT Allahabad. Besides being one of the best NITs, after Top South Indian NITs like Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal, Calicut having excellent infrastructure, faculty and research facilities, MNNIT also has a very strong employer outlook. As far as Civil Engineering is concerned, Top Companies like Tata Projects, L&T, JSW regularly visit the Institute for Placements.

After MNNIT, I believe MNIT Jaipur followed by NIT Kurukshetra are the next best NITs in North India.
