There are lot of opportunity after MSC maths.

MSc Mathematics graduates have pretty good job profiles in both government and private sectors. Some of these job profiles in both government and private sectors are mentioned below:

Private sector jobs:

  • Actuary
  • Cost Estimator
  • Economist
  • Professor
  • Lecturer
  • Senior Manager
  • Research Associate

Govt sector jobs:

  • Junior Associate Professor

Salary offered is according to experience. If you have 0-3yrs   salary expected is 3-4 lac

The salary you have mentioned is much lower than average. I think this is the data from the Internet which includes onl the salaries which people mentions there. And 1 out of 10000 Mathematicians. Economists, Professors mention their salaries.
