There a couple of books you can look into for GK. Check for business insider or any other similar kind of monthly or yearly journal. They will provide a gist of what has happened over the month or year.

Apart from that you can get pdfs if you just google, that contain news highlights month wise. Also, install some news apps on your phone. Go for economic times or business insider and switch on notifications. In that way you can also stay updated.
