Coming to your question, There is no such thing as a top branch in NITs and IITs. I feel you should choose a course that is of interest to you, since only then you will be able to do well in that course and during the placement.

Each Field is unique and provides different opportunities. Computer Science is a branch of engineering which deals in the study of basics of computer programming and networking, which includes topics related to computation, algorithms, programming languages, program design, computer software, computer hardware, etc whereas ECE deals with the design and development of electronic circuits, communication equipment like transmitter, receiver, integrated circuits (IC), and the transmission of data.
