Dipankar Gupta (born 11 October 1949) is an Indian sociologist and public intellectual. He was formerly Profesor in the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jawaharlal_Nehru_University,_Delhi) JNU New Delhi. For a brief period from 1993–1994, he was also associated with the Delhi School of Economic as Professor in the Department of Sociology.
