Hi Aspirant,
Even if you don't appear for the exam,then since you've filled the form means that will be counted as 1 opportunity taken.
You can appear for JEE Mains 6 times (2 times a year for 3 years).
So even if you don't appear after filling up the form,your 1 attempt will be counted.
