In my opinion one should not join JNU for Btech(As per your Interest), and it is new batch then you should definitely not. Even good colleges with new Btech branches are like bio labs with students as laboratory mice.

Also JNU specialise in MSc BSc PhD BEd etc.

It is college where you won't find a placement cell as most of the students gets into research and some indulge in politics..

So in my opinion better go for NITS or better engineering college like BIT,TIET,UPES or take a drop. Remember you will not be placed here.
