Hii Aspirant,

Mechatronics engineering is a combination of robotics, electronics, computer, telecommunications, systems, control, and product, electrical and mechanical engineer.

To do better in mechatronics engineering , study and revise physics - Mechanics , Current and magnetism and some of semiconductors.
Keep your calculus part strong in maths , as it will be very much required.

Learn to use and study any software like CAD , Creo , solid works etc. Even the knowledgeable of one will help you alot.

When you are studying , don't study one part as only one part , keep mixing with other and also see where which can be used as in mechatronics it is the mixture of a lot of things going on together.

To improve you can do some projects yourself and see how things work. It will make you more and more interested in subject and will also help you alot in your stream.

Hope my answer helps
