Partial drop means joining a engineering college but preparing for jee mains along side with its course. It is generally a hectic job but you can do it if you are able to manage it well. It is for a safer side if you don't get a good college via jee mains 2022.

But if you are sure you can prepare along with the college curriculum and fees is not an issue, then you should go for it. Otherwise you can drop the whole year and prepare only for the entrance exam.

Normally partial dropper refers to a student who prepares for an entrance exam while studying in another course or college. For example, an student is studying in some engineering college and he is also preparing for JEE exam.
