The age criteria for B.DEs NIFT are as follows:

Candidates should be of 23 years of age as on October 1, 2019. However, there is an age relaxation of five years for those belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Person With Disability (PHP) .

Other criteria's to be considered are:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination from any recognized central/state board or,
• Candidates who have taken the General Certificate Education Examination in London/ Sri Lanka etc., at the advanced (A) level or,
• Candidates who have taken the exam in foreign countries and if that is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 are eligible or,
• Candidates who have passed 3-4 years’ diploma recognized by AICTE or state board are eligible.
• Candidates who are appearing for 10+2 exam are also eligible.

yes,off course age criteria is is mandatory for NIFT B.Des  but If you wants to carrier in B.Des  so its really good.As per NIFT criteria your age should be below 23 years of age for NIFT 2020.

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) conducts the NIFT entrance exam to shortlist candidates for admission in fashion technology programmes offered by the institute.

For admission into the Bachelor of Design programme, candidates need to fulfill the basic eligibility requirements. They should have completed their Class 12 from a recognised board with passing marks. Aspirants should be below 23 years of age for NIFT admission.
