Hello Snigdha
As there are less number of seats and number of qualifiers are more . So you have to be in top ranking to get NIT .
So to get admission in good NIT with core branch you have to secure rank under 10 thousand ( depending upon your category and state it may vary ).
But it is not that you can not get at higher rank ; you can get even at 40000 rank also but you have to compromise with some other things.
So nearly 99+ percentile you should secur for good college.
Good Luck.
Hi aspirant
There are limited number of seats in NITs and IITs .There are more than 10 lakhs students appearing for JEE every year.Based on some calculation there are nearly 35,000 seats in IITs/NITs/IIITs .
You need more than 96%ile to get seats or you can say rank within 40,000 can give you seat .
Read more about seat matrix here:https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/iits-iiits-and-gftis-add-1558-btech-seats-nits-reduce-145
Hope this was helpful.
As of now no prediction would work because exams are being conducted across india and on day of results cutoff will be out.
Thankyou
