what is the difference between All India merit no. and all India rank??plz reply sir...

Dear Amey

Merit of all eligible candidates will be based on All India Rank in JEE (Main) 2017(Paper 1) given by CBSE

and Merit list of Eligible Candidates so prepared shall indicate a Maharashtra State level General Merit No. for the purpose of allotment of collage in CAP round
