It depends upon on various Factors like :

• Your category
• Cuttoff in that respective year
• No of students written the entrance exam.
• Branch in which you want to pursue.
• Premises of NIT in which you wish to enter in.

So basically overall you can think like that of you have score above 140+ in the JEE mains entrance exam if you are from the general category then you can get the seat in any of the premises of NIT and for the other categories students it may get vary depending upon the variation in cuttoff.

There are lots of factors on which cutoff us decided like:
Number of students appeared in the exam
Difficulty level of the exam
Number of students qualified the exam
Number of questions asked in the exam
Previous years cut off trends

But on a rough note we can assume that aminimum of 125-130 will needed to secure a seat in NIT.
