what is the minimum good percentage of marks for placement in mechanical engineering jobs?

It is not the percentage which is going to matter, as for as the job is concerned. It is the knowledge and skill which can take any individual to the apex. However, 60 to 70% will be a better position - if the above mentioned point is taken care of.

It is important to note that employers, usually, will pay not more than 60% to 75% of what an employee can contribute to a company/organization. Therefore, you must try hard to be a performer (to become a performer you need to be meticulous in your task in a planned way).
