see in india most of the colleges accept gate score for admission in m.tech program, however some of the university has their own entrance test like appgecet, tancet, vit mee, bits hd etc. m.tech in biotechnology is a research oriented field and candidates may work as a scientist, pharmaceutical,  agriculture,  food processing companies hires biotechnology profession. you may also do phd in foreign after clearing m.tech courses in india.
