Rank is institute specific and category specific you need to qualify in the entrance exam in order to be eligible to get seat. For general category the qualifying mark in 40 marks or 25% marks in AP EAMCET and for SC/ST there is no minimum qualifying marks. If a candidate belonging to general category scores less than 40 marks then he will not be allotted any rank so if you belong to general category you need to score 40 marks but scoring the qualifying marks may not help you fetch a seat in a decent college. You need to score minimum 60-80 marks or above if you belong to reserved category and if you belong to general category you need to score minimum 90 marks or above to secure a decent rank.
