It depends on company to company and also the GATE marks you scored. If you get a chance in the top PSU's like ONGC, NTPC, etc then your salary will be touching around 1.5+ lakhs per month after your training. But if you get a job on the basis of GATE in any company then your salary will be definetly higher than any other normal engineer.

So, coming to your question the salary of an Electrical Engineer in Power Grid Corporation of India will be around 10+ Lakhs per annum. The real figures are not available anywhere but this is the closest that an Engineer can get.

If you get placed at PGCIL(Power Grid Coporation of India Limited) ,you will get salary.You will get enough..And also you don't have to worry about job security,your job will be secure.Package will be around 13-14 lpa at starting which will increase each year..Also there you have to cover lot of journey to occupy postion of GM...
