Candidates with B.E./B.Tech, enrolled in the Ph.D. programme can optionally get an M.Sc. degree by fulfilling additional requirements.

TIFR PhD in Science Education 2021 applications are invited till March 31, 2021. Candidates with a postgraduate degree inSocial / Behavioural Sciences/ Psychology/ Linguistics/ Sociology/ Economics/ Anthropology, M.Ed with UG inScience/ Social Sciences/ Humanities can apply. Written test willbe held in May and an interview round in the third week of June 2021. The non-refundable exam fee is INR 850 (Male Candidates) and INR 350 (Female and Other Candidates).

Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR Mumbai) offers research and integrated programs at PG and doctoral levels. There are M.Sc, M.Sc+Ph.D and PhD courses offered in various streams of Science. Admissions are entrance based for all courses.

M.Sc admission is offered in 2 specializations, candidates willing to take admission must have a relevant B.Sc degree and qualify for TIFR Mumbai Entrance.

M.Sc+Ph.D admissions are offered in 4 subjects of Science and Mathematics. Students must hold a relevant B.Sc/BA degree and qualify for the entrance.

PhD admissions are based on:

TIFR GS 2021(entrance) for Biology and Life Sciences applicants.

For other entrance scores in NET, JRF, JEST orGATE are accepted. These candidates are exempted from appearing for the TIFR entrance examination.

Students must hold a relevant Masters degree to be eligible for admission.

The minimum passing marks for the comprehensive test will be 65%. Qualified student may be given credit for the course without requiring to attend the classes. Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on written test marks, CV, letters of recommendation and Scientific write-up. For Ph. D.: Masters in Basic Science (M.Sc. Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ any branch of Biology) or any professional Master's Degree
