Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery (B.U.M.S.) is a 5.5 years academic programme containing the 4.5-year academic session and 1-year internship programme with live practical. The undergraduate programme in Unani system can be pursued through the distance education system also.

Eligibility Criteria: -

• Qualifying the 10+2 examination with 50% marks. The candidate must have the physics, chemistry, and biology in 12th class. 

• The students who have the language Urdu in 12th class or having proficiency in the Urdu language has given the preference in admission (in fact, most of the top colleges have given the criteria that candidate must have studied Urdu in class 10th or in 12th )

• Must have qualified NEET UG

Cutoffs-

• For Aligarh Muslim University, the cut-offs are not disclosed but according to various sources, marks were above 350 in NEET UG.

• For Delhi University, the merit list of counseling started with 495 NEET score in Delhi quota and 494 NEET score in all India quota. The minimum marks were 119 i.e. qualifying marks for NEET 2018. 

• In ZVM, Unani Medical College & Hospital, Pune (a private college) the merit list started with 360 marks in NEET.

Seeing the cut-offs trend in these colleges, you can see that maximum marks would be around 490 to get admission in the first counseling of the top colleges. The score of 350 is an average but a good score and with that, you can get a seat in most the colleges.

And the minimum marks would be about 119, the qualifying marks on which you should depend at all because hardly there is a chance that you will get admission anywhere with these marks and even if you do, it would be in spot counseling or in some private college.
