MAT is the Management Aptitude Test for the mana B schools. It is conducted four times a year by AIMA. Compared to CAT, MAT is easier to score. It is both computer based test and paper based test for the duration of 2 hours 30 minutes.

The sections in MAT are:

Language comprehension

Data analysis and sufficiency

Mathematics

Intelligence and critical reasoning

Indian and global environmental section

The each question carries 1 mark and wrong answer has the negative marking of one fourth of the mark.

However comparing to CAT MAT exam is easier. The last section in MAT that is Indian and Global environmental is the general knowledge questions which is not considered for the total percentile of the marks obtained. So not attending the section also doesn't affect your total score.

The syllabus for both CAT and MAT is same. But the level of difficulty in the questions differ.

MAT is held in the month of February,May ,September and December. So even if you do not reach a very good score you can write the exam next time. But CAT is conducted only once a year and there must be concentration and you must be careful while giving it.

All the best
