There is a major difference between avionics and aeronotics 

In Avionics engineers concentrate on elctrical system of the aircraft or helicopters etc. This involes the communication to the base camp. 

In aeronotics it is the study of air flight of the aeroplane, techniques of operating aircraft or rocket within the atmosphere.
