Expect iit and nit none of college are provide you education outside of book...
If you are studying in any private college you need to much focuse on your skills and be always practical about the new things...be motivated..
For preparation of gate you need to join any coaching institute becuz they will provide you notes of previous year paper and also up to date you about pattern and syllabus etc..
