Hi,
There is no such book as the best book for preparation.There are good books available and you need to work upon them to achieve success.
Some of the recommended books for CLAT are:-
English-1)WORD POWER MADE EASY by Norman Lewis
2)Vocabulary-Online materials available and the book by Wren and Martin.
3)For other topics,follow any RC booklet or online lectures/videos.

For Legal Aptitude-
1)Universal's guide to CLAT and LLB.
2)Pearson CLAT guide by Gargani et Cetera
