hello,

Since i am persuing engineering i can provide you an answer. If you want to prepare yourself for civil cervices then you have to create a time table and need to follow strictly because whichever discipline you choose you wo'nt get enough time to prepare for civil services. In engineering you will have lots of assignments, projects which have a strict deadlines as these things give you marks as well as prepares for the recruitment stuffs. If you really want to prepare you can either choose a 3 year cours like ba, bsc, bca which will save your 1 year because upsc has only one major criteria you must have a bachlor degree. If you are willing to do engineering too then you need to complete your btech first then after graduation you need to prepare for civil services.

hope this will help you

all the best!!
