Both the fields are good and at the same time both the fields have its own drawbacks. While now a days many students are applying for CSE the field is getting saturated but if you are doing it from a good reputed college then with proper skills you may get a good placement. Civil engineers also have scope in private and government sectors. Civil engineers can also get placements from good college.

My dear , both are best in there own way. U have to remember that it does not matter in which subject u choose ..it all about ur learning and apply...here some information for u...
FOR CSE, it relates to computer science, like analysis of algorithms.programming language, programming design,software, computer hardware etc.
IT HAS a great future in design, development, testing, maintenance of a software in IT, , Networking, administration of IT etc .
ON THE OTHER HAND...THERE is also very good opportunities in civil engineering like--CONCEIVE, degin, bulid supervise, operate construction , maintenance bridges, in water supply industry, in various private sector.

Both Civil and CSE are good branches there are lot of opportunity in both branches.Its totally upto you based on your interest .Try to choose the course which you have interest so that you can gain more knowledge and get good job.

CSE is a better choice. You have a higher prospect of job in CSE. Jobs in civil are high but low waged.

If you want good placement then you must go for cse . if you want government officer post then you must go for civil engineering. Government job have less vacancy for cse but for civil you will find lot of vacancy .cse gives you higher increment in your job
