If you really want to study and get a good placement then you should go for CSE branch at a good private college. I will suggest you to go for Chandigarh University. You can also take the mechanical or civil engineering there if you want to clear the National level examinations after your BTech. Just make sure you utilise the resources there properly. Stay focused during the four years of your BTech.

With your mentioned rank it is highly unlikely for you to get into NITs. You could still apply for the josaa counselling process and try your luck. But I would suggest you to try for state level engineering colleges which accept JEE main scores. You could get good colleges and your desired branch.
