Computer science engineering is better than information technology from my perspective. Information technology is practical oriented whereas Computer Science Engineering is theory as well as practical oriented. Both have equal scopes during placement. Problem arises only during termination (for example if there are 10 people in a group and 7 of them are CSE students and 3 are from IT background, then there are chances for these IT background students to get terminated, where CSE is preferred over IT). But let me remind you all that matters is talent, If you are a IT guy with much talent than a CSE guy of course you will not have problem. Choose wisely, ALL THE BEST. Hope the answer was helpful.

Both the branches are good in term of job opportunities. Both have very good scope. You can choose any branch according to your interest. If we compare both the branches then CSE has more scope than IT.

IT is a part of Computer Science Engineering C.S.E. In IT you will read about mostly Hardware specification but in C.S.E you will read both Hardware And  Software

In both the domains, there are ample career opportunities
