No such specializations are required for joining the CID or CBI . You can complete your graduation from any stream you want. Definitely studying Criminology will increase your chances and will help you to get the idea for the job. The minimum qualification to join as a Sub Inspector in the CID is passing 10+2 and any undergraduate course from any recognized college/ university. And then you have to appear for the Civil Services exam conducted by the UPSC each year.
