Hi, hope you are doing well.

First of all, BAMS and BDS are two different medical science specialisations. Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicines and Science (BAMS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) are both abbreviations for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicines and Science and Bachelor of Dental Surgery, respectively. After earning a BDS which is a specialisation in DentalSurgery, you can pursue a variety of vocations, including Dentist, Orthodontist, Dental Hygienist, Dental Technician, and other related positions. It is a professional field with 100% job field. Initial salary is Rs 15000 to Rs 30000 per month but it may be increase later to 4 to 6 LPA.

After completing a BAMS programme, you can pursue an M.D. or M.S. Ayurveda degree in any comparable specialty.

In BAMS, Ayurveda Doctor has starting salary of INR 3 LPA . Scientist has starting salary INR 4.95LPA. Medical officier is paid INR 4.98 LPA at start and lecturer is paid INR 2.97 LPA.

Few top BDS colleges in India are

1. King George's Medical University, Lucknow

2. Makaut Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi

3. Mansarovar Dental College, Hospital and Research Centre,  Bhopal

Few top BAMS colleges in India are:

1.Banaras Hindu University

2. Dr DY Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune

3. Institute of Medical Sciences, Varanasi

Hope this helps.

hi reader,

Interest matters.

I would never say BDS is better than BAMS or vice versa.

In my opinion before deciding anything we must do proper research about all the streams.  BDS stands for Bachelors in dental surgery and BAMS is Bachelors in Ayurvedic medicine and surgery.  See BDS is a degree for those who are really fascinated by the surgery and Have inclination or interest in Modern medicine.

. Now I tell u what Dentistry can help you with.   they are treating A to Z disease of teeth. From cavities to tumors to misalignment they cure and provide smile to them. This what they are doing clinically. Now let's talk about non clinical aspects they are at top researching teams they are civil officer, this  field of Medicine is recognised by 193 countries all around the world. So u can practice outside India and can earn handsome amount of money. But you have to be assured that its a long time consuming field. For your PG fellowship and different post graduating fields.

BAMS has great opportunities with private and government hospitals and demand has also been increasing considering heart disease, diabetes, hormonal abnormalities and need for Ayurvedic medicines. They can also setup Ayurvedic clinic and has good income opportunities depending upon your skills and experience. Scope for BAMS is increasing day by day as the introduction of modern medicine and techniques. Also after BAMS one can do MD and can do surgery.

choose according to your interests and your choice

i hope this helps

thank you

Hello aspirant!
Hope you are doing well.

Bams and bds both are very different courses.

See after doing bams you are a doctor which can treat every part of the body . You will have thr knowledge of modern medicine too.
But after doing Bds you will treat teeth only.
Your field is limited to teeth only.
And also nowadays scope of Bams is more than of Bds.
There are less government jobs in Bds compared to Bams.

However Bams consists of subjects like sanskrit, hindi etc. So if you are comfortable and have interest in it you can do this course.

Further you can know more about your admission chances in neet by going through the links below:-

See the above three fields are well oriented and have good scope ahead. But if you want to have a good clinical exposure or if you want to be a doctor in the government medical hospitals then going for BDS will be better. See for medical purpose there are more infrastructure for the Allopaethic medicine compared to any of the other course. So if you go for BDS you will have a better scope in terms of Government positions as well as you can do a better private clinic than that of  BAMS.  BAMS come under the natural healers which don't face the emergency cases. But if you go for BDS you will get the charm of being an surgeon as well as you can prescribe medicine which quite similar to that of a MBBS doctor except your are specialized to Dentistry.
