That totally depends on what you wanna do after graduation. I mean if you want to work for a company as a developer then you should opt for BCA but if you want to be a professor then Bsc is a good option for you. It doesn't mean that you cannot work for any company after Bsc but you have to work harder than others. The reason why I am telling you is that in Bsc the focus is on theoritical knowledge rather than BCA where you will learn about applications.

Computers have totally revolutionized the modern industry of today. You can see computers almost everywhere in the production and sales department of every small and big industry. Sometimes it will be in the form of a small calculator, whereas in some cases it will be fully automated robots. As this industry has grown influential in recent times, it has also created numerous jobs as well.

Many students after completing 10+2 opt to choose the field of information technology as their career path. But, all candidates are confused about which course to select as there are many options available. Some would go for Computer Engineering, while some choose to graduate in Computer Science and some candidates choose BCA (https://asb.edu.in/programme/bca-course/) ( Bachelor of Computer Applications (https://asb.edu.in/programme/bca-course/) ). Despite all these courses having things in common, there lies plenty of variation between them. Before choosing a course by the random selection, you should be well aware of distinguishing between all these courses and understand which one suits you best. This is important because the difference lies in the course structure, admission procedure, and career opportunities.

Hello,

BCA stands for the Bachelor of Computer Applications, while the BSc IT signifies the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

  • BSc IT deals mainly with information technology, internet, and database management thus the hardware components.
  • BCA is primarily involved in computer applications and software component that is programming.

Hence, if you who want to make a career in the computer applications, programming, and software development, the BCA course is better (than BSc IT).

If you want to find advanced job opportunities in the internet technology and database operations & management, the BSc IT course is better.

BCA is more productive and favorable for getting jobs in the corporate sector; while BSc IT is more suitable for making careers in the academia and disciplinary research.

Hope this helps!!
