Jadavpur University is one of the best government Engineering colleges of India. It is quite difficult to differentiate Cse and Electronics and Telecommunication. Needless to say, the placements are absolutely excellent.

The professors of Jadavpur University are mostly PhD scholars and they are extremely helpful and experienced. Academically and Infrastructure wise, Jadavpur University is greatest. Being the government engineering college, the fee is very feasible. The placement of both IT and ETC are extremely good. However, more CTC is offered to Information Technology Engineers. Average CTC for IT lies around 12 lpa while it is 7 lpa for Electronics and telecommunications engineers. Around 100 organizations have participated in the campus drive in the current session and most of them were Software and IT companies. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, L&T Technology, Texas Instruments, Directi, Capgemini, Samsung, Goldman Sachs, Mentor Graphics, Airtel, PWC, CG power etc every year recruit engineers from Jadavpur University. In the latest placement, around 98% students were placed from IT.

The highest package offered was 39 lpa offered by Adobe while the placement percentage is not so impressive for ETC. Around 75% students have been placed from ETC in the lastest session. And the highest package offered was 28.75 lpa. JU has tie ups with many foreign universities, some students are also invited to foreign. If you want to differentiate them baserd on placement scenario, then IT is the branch you can go for. But choosing a stream also depends on your interest and passion.
