Dear Anindita,

In Management Quota, you can get admission to the private or deemed Medical College directly. All India Quota means the colleges in a state registered under MCI have to keep 15% of their total seats reserved for the candidates coming through AIQ.

Annual MBBS course fee for the Management Quota is very high and ranges from INR 2,11,000 to INR 22,50,000. So you should go for Management Quota only if you believe you can afford to pay a huge sum of money.

If you secure good All India Rank, it is advisable to go for AIQ in deemed Medical College of other states. It is affordable as it costs around 8000 to 35000 per annum.

Hello aspirant.

Both private colleges and deemed colleges have their own pros and cons. It completely depends on your budget, state you want a college in and marks scored. Usually, deemed medical colleges have a fee structure of around minimum 16 lakhs per annum (only tuition fee) whereas private colleges fee ranges from 11 lakhs- 15 lakhs (including hostel charges). Many students with 550+ marks also opt for deemed medical colleges as their hospital opd is more well established than the private ones.

Hence, if you want a low budget college, have 550+ marks, and want a college in your domicile state, you should opt for management quota seats. If you want to try for colleges in other states, have a budget of around 17 lakhs, go for deemed universities (candidates scored around 400 marks also get deemed colleges)

Giving you a cut off list of private colleges in West Bengal-

1. KPC Medical College- 568

2. IQ City Medical College- 565

3. Shri Ram Krishna Institute of medical sciences- 563

4. Jagannath Gupta medical college- 564

Cut off for reputed deemed universities-

1. Hamdard Institute of medical sciences- 585

2. KMC, Manipal- 572

3. KMC, Mangalore- 554

4. JSS Medical College- 528

5. Symbiosis Medical college for women- 528

Hope it helps!
