IIITs should must be at the first choice due to the IT market demand and very high placements records. IIIT tag is so prestigious as they are Institute of National Importance ( INI ) and to get into it a student must have to crack and secure a good rank in IIT JEE Mains paper. Some of the top IIITs are IIIT Surat, IIIT Allahabad, IIIT Gwalior, IIIT Lucknow, IIIT Jabalpur, IIIT Guwahati, etc.

We can't say directly  because all nit and IIITs are not same.
If you are interested in cs/IT  then IIITs are good choice.as IIIT Hyderabad,Delh far better than some NIT's.
Top NIT'S like nit Trichy , nit surathkal (Karnataka)
Nit Warangal are so good and better than new IITs also .
So it's depend on your choice .

IIIT Delhi is also good but it's fee is very high because it is private institute.. Also coding culture of IIITs are far better than many NITs If you are interested in CSE/IT then IIIT_H is the best option for you. IIIT hyderabad, IIIT allahabad , IIIT delhi are far better than NITs in terms of coding.

If you are looking for best placement then you can go in IIIT hyderabad bcz in this year in all IIT  NIT and IIIT the hyderabad IIIT gives top most placement in all well known institutes but NIT is also well NIT warangal also give good placement to their students so it's fully depend on you where you want to go avmcoording to me IIIT hyderabad if you are getting this and after that you can select any best NIT
