I would suggest you Jadavpur university as it is rated an outstanding and excellent university for btech/engineering studies as compared to NIT durgapur.

It depends on which NIT you are comparing. If we talk about top NITs then you should go for NITs they are better and if we compare it with lower NITs then you should go for JU.
