Computer Science provides the best package in comparision to other branch. As there are lot of IT companies and they prefer computer science or Information technology branch students over other branch.

As far as annual package is concerned it can be divided into 3 categories:

• tier-1 colleges(IIT's,BITs) - 12-50 lakh
• tier-2 colleges(NIT, IIIT) - 5-20 lakh
• tier-3 colleges(state level) - 3-6 lakh

The Annual package depends on the college in which you are pursuing engineering.

Talking about the branch,in most of the colleges,mostly IT companies came for placements to recruit computer science & electricals students.Few companies came for recruiting other branch students say mechanical,civil etc.

So it's upto you which branch you take.
