Dear Arnab,

The scope for Aeronautical engineers isn't as good as it is in other countries at present. But the scope for highly skilled and efficient aeronautical engineers will increase in the future due to higher demand, popularity and need for air travel and space explorations.

Where can you get jobs?

  • The following PSUs will hire you only if GATE Exams are cleared and also currently the number of vacancies are limited to 5-10 per year for aerospace sector in particular:

ISRO- Indian Space Research Organization

DRDO- Defense Research and Development Organization

NAL- National Aerospace Laboratories

HAL- Hindustan Aeronautics Limited

ADA- Aeronautical Development Agency

  • Private Airlines, Corporate Research Companies, Helicopter companies, Aviation companies like L&T, Godrej, Boyce Aerospace, Boeing, Airbus, Mahindra, TATA Advanced Systems
  • You can also get into Indian Air Force

The average salary of an aeronautical engineer is INR 6,25,000 per year.

Hope this helps!Good Luck!!!
