robotics is a combination of a various element it needs more than one branch to complete your robot like you need hardware as well as software. Mechatronics and artificial intelligence help you build a better robot and if you want specific then you may consider to artificial intelligence because of if you compare to Mechatronics you may see better scope in AI and it needs to build more. AI is the brain of any robot and builds a robot brain is taught then you may think.
