I believe GSVM Kanpur being an older institution has better infrastructure, faculty, research and hosptal facilities. Unlike Engineering, Medical Education is not about any brand like IIT, AIIMS but more about the depth in education and better training prospects.

However if AIIMS Gorakhpur is at your vicinity you can prefer that over GSVM Kanpur. Do keep an eye on the counselling procedure and dates.
