Hello aspirant,

Medical Microbiology is largely focused on hospital microbiology management as well as public health. Compared to this a clinical microbiologist is actively involved in actual culturing, analyzing as well as identifying pathogens, bacteria and other viruses. The role of a clinical microbiologist is expected to become even more critical in the future with the emergence of new organisms and their strains that no longer respond to traditional treatment options. Clinical microbiologists have greater employment options available and these include employment in establishments like hospitals, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, life sciences and food as well as agricultural industries.

Hope you understand,

Thank you.

Hi dear,

Hope you are doing well!

Now let's go through your question.

Both the courses are good in their respective field.

MSc Medical Microbiology:

As you will be knowing that this programme provides comprehensive knowledge and practical training in the spread of microorganisms (predominantly bacterial and viral pathogens), disease causation and diagnosis and treatment of pathogens significant to public health.

The increasing incidence of microbial infections worldwide is being compounded by the rapid evolution of drug-resistant variants and opportunistic infections by other organisms. The course content reflects the increasing importance of genomics and molecular techniques in both diagnostics and the study of pathogenesis.

Msc in applied Microbiology:

As you will be knowing that this course is a branch of biology that deals with microorganisms and their effects on other living organisms. This course requires you to be well versed in the skills like scientific and analytical temper. Also interest in research observant attitude and determination.

On successful completion of both the courses you will be capable to work in the employment areas like Hospitals in Pathology, cytology Lab, Food Industries, Beverages Industry, etc. Also there are different career opportunities job types like Lecturer, professor, lab technician, manager, etc.
